What if I find a moth in my oats?

Please contact us and let us know how you stored you oats and where they were purchased.

Oats are a natural product. Moths can form a webbing insider the container and the larva from this moth can live in any cereal based food. Moths are a problem in areas of New Zealand where humidity is high. Moths can spread quickly even eating through paper and cardboard packaging.

How to prevent pantry moth:

• Clean pantry using a light solution of detergent or vinegar to wipe down shelves.
• Store any new purchased grain product in the freezer.
• Store any grain based product in a sealed glass container.
• Use products before the use by date stamped on the pack.
