Heat margarine in a high sided saucepan over medium heat.
Add oats and fry oats for about 3 minutes or until there is a toasty aroma.
Pour in water and stir, and bring to a rolling boil.
Turn off the heat and cover the pan and let it stand overnight.
Bring the oatmeal back to a simmer with an addition of some milk if desired to thin out the oats.
When the oats are warm, scoop into bowls and enjoy.
